THE first stage of Harbour Boulevarde will be only 540m long, but it is heralded as an integral part of the Shell Cove infrastructure.

Public submissions are sought on the road to link the marina precinct with the rest of Shellharbour, and provide future access to Bass Point.

Construction of the boulevarde will require the demolition and relocation of the existing Shellharbour Bowling Club.

The finalisation of the road was the next phase for the $1.5 billion partnership between Shellharbour City Council and Australand.

Australand project director Glenn Colquhoun said the small stretch of road was a major cog in the wheel.

A development application for a new club and facilities will be lodged with Shellharbour City Council within the next month.

The deadline for written submissions is June 21.
